Takes 2 to 2.5 hours. The roads winding up from the south are narrow but generally paved and well-signposted.

Kintamani Caldera Entrance Fees

When entering the Kintamani region via the main mountain roads, you will pass through official government toll checkpoints. Every visitor is required to pay a regional entry permit fee to the local Bangli Regency government.

The standard fee for international tourists is **IDR 50,000 per person** (approx. **$3.30 USD**), while domestic Indonesian visitors pay **IDR 30,000**. If you are driving a private car, there is a vehicle tax of **IDR 10,000** (~**$0.66 USD**), and scooters pay **IDR 5,000**.

Ensure you carry physical Indonesian Rupiah cash, as the checkpoint booths do not accept credit cards or international bank transfers. If you book an all-inclusive sunrise trekking tour, the driver handles these toll gate payments automatically, which saves you the hassle of stopping at the checkpoints.
